Moto M specifications leak alongside live photos

#

There hasn’t been much news on the Moto M front lately. We last checked up on the handset back in August when it cleared certification. Today we’ve got photos of the Moto M in the wild, and some specifications to discuss as well.

Several leaked Moto M photos have emerged from the depths of the net. At first glance, there is certainly no mistaking them for anything other than a Motorola/Lenovo product. It’s a dead ringer for G4 but a bit classier. We don’t know the overall dimensions or weight but it should have a metal unibody and you can clearly see the fingerprint sensor residing on the backside. That alone could be a popular move as plenty of people prefer their scanners on the back instead of the home button.

As for the rumored Moto M specifications, they are solid but walk that line between mid-range and flagship. The processor will be the popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, and that chip will get 3GB/4GB of RAM to give it a large boost. You’re not going to have to worry about storage either with 64GB or 12GB out of the box and a microSD card slot for expansion. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the display but do know what will help to push those pixels around.

Battery life has become more important as our smartphones have gotten, well… smarter. Better games and apps need more juice as do those QHD panels. The display on the Moto M is thought to put it in the phablet class at 5.5-inches with an unknown resolution . That said, the battery will be huge at 5,100mAh which should provide plenty of power regardless of how many pixels you have. Needless to say, we don’t envision a 2K display on this one, so don’t hold your breath.

The big 4G model of the Moto M is set to debut in China around the holidays this December while the 3GB model will go international around the same time. Pricing is up in the air, but we will keep you posted as more details on the Moto M price and availability come to light.
