Moto M release for India tipped to arrive soon

#

Earlier this month Lenovo unveiled the Moto M for consumers in China. At the time, there was no mention of a wider release. Thanks to a new tweet, it appears the handset will soon have a new fanbase in India.

The Moto M is an interesting smartphone that falls somewhere in between the flagship and mid-range class. It certainly differs from its other Moto-branded handsets in style, and under the hood as well. That’s due in part to the processor, which is listed as the Helio P15 unless they pull a chip switch for the regional release.

That MediaTek chip is going to get a boost from 4GB of RAM and the internal storage will clock in at 32GB. It’s expandable as well, so you can kick things up to 128GB through the microSD card slot. The front-facing camera is a bit larger than most at 8MP while the rear snapper is listed at 16MP and has a Dual LED flash and PDAF.

In the connectivity department, the Moto M has all the usual options. This means we’re looking at Dual Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/GLONASS and a fingerprint scanner which you’ll find on the backside. Other features to note include Dolby Atmos enhancement and a Type-C USB port. The handset has a fixed 3,050mAh battery and will run Android 6.0.1 out of the box.

While not 100% confirmed, the tweet sent out by Moto India leads us to believe they are talking about the Moto M and fans seem to think the same thing as well. Aside from the “Coming Soon” we don’t have a firm release date but expect to learn more soon.
