Sony Pikachu smartphone appears on GFXBench

#

Sometimes a name can tell us a lot about an unannounced handset. That said, the Sony Pikachu smartphone is a massive mystery as it’s just shown up on GFXbench. We don’t know what this one will look like, but do know what it will sport under the hood.

The handset has appeared on GFXBench dubbed the Sony Pikachu and looks to be a mid-range device. The folks over at WinFuture.de caught this one and believe it could be the upcoming Xperia XA2. That particular handset has been making the rounds of late and could make a debut at MWC 2017 in a few short weeks. As for the Sony Pikachu smartphone, here is what you can expect.

Sony Pikachu Smartphone specifications

  • 5-inch touchscreen display 1,280 x 720
  • 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6757 processor
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB of internal storage
  • 21MP rear camera
  • 8MP front-facing camera
  • GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4G LTE
  • Android 7.0

The Sony Pikachu smartphone specs scream mid-ranger, and we have to assume it is not going to bear the mascots likeness unless Nintendo has teamed up with Sony. Stranger things have happened, but this one probably just got a cute name or will be extremely yellow.

Are you looking forward to Sony’s 2017 mobile lineup?
