Android Magazine App Rejected by Apple

Well it’s not really that surprising but the word is Danish magazine publisher Mediaprovider who has an iPhone magazine in the App Store submitted an Android magazine, which was to be a counterpart to their iPhone magazine app, but Apple has rejected the Android version.

According to an article over on Intomobile by Kelly Hodgkins and by way of Fortune, the reason for Apple rejecting the Android magazine was because the content focused on the rival operating system.

Although the Android app wasn’t expected to be popular with iOS users they submitted it anyway as a compliment to their iPhone magazine and on being rejected, Brad Dixon, the CEO of Mediaprovider contacted Apple and asked “So what’s the problem?”

An Apple rep known as Richard replied, “You know …your magazine. It’s just about Android…we can’t have that in our App Store.”

Now I can understand that Android is a rival to iOS, but doesn’t Apple allow other rivals in the App Store such as Skyfire and Opera being rivals to Safari, or could it simply be that Apple doesn’t want the iPhone faithful to be able to access an app which will show them what the Android OS is like and risk losing some of the iOS faithful?

If Apple "iOS" fans had time to really look at a good Android OS phone they will more than likely pick Android OS to Apple's. Yes Apple iPhone is neat, sexy, and all that. Android OS delivers much more. It's not about how many applications are out in the open. It is how useful they are. For me it's Android for my phone os.
