Apple iOS 4.2 Problem: AirPrint Support Dropped

The latest rumor to hit the web is about AirPrint support for printers, apparently Apple has dropped/cancelled it due to problems, not good news for those waiting on the new iOS 4.2 update coming soon.

According to Macstories AirPrint support for printers shared through Windows and Macs has been cancelled, it has been taken off the support documentation.

This is shocking to say the least because the AirPrint in iOS 4.2 that allows printing to happen wirelessly will only work with a small amount of printers from HP at launch, not good, not good at all.

iOS 4.2 AirPrint will only work on HP Photosmart C410, C310, B210 and C510, and the HP ENVY 100 D410, apparently a developer was contacted by Apple saying, ““Support for AirPrint on Windows and Mac has been cancelled. We will be in contact with you if another opportunity arises in the future”.

Apple has not reported this so until official news comes in via Apple you have to consider this being a rumour, we will keep you posted. Please do post your comments below.
