Bryan Kinsella, chief information officer told Reuters in an interview “Today we have over 40 different systems which vary from open source systems to Microsoft Exchange to other complex arrangements, hosted both internally and externally, We looked very carefully at rolling out server-based standard solutions and 15-18 months ago we looked at delivering the solution via the cloud.”
This is good news because it means that Cloud, or web-based applications will enable businesses to access apps (Applications) and data via the internet now which means there will be no need for applications and data to be held on local dedicated servers.
At the moment there are around 1.75 million businesses using Google Apps and Rentokil is one of the largest companies to date, for more information please visit Reuters.
