BlackBerry BBM party sees guy stabbed in neck

It appears that a recent partly at the Pulse underground nightclub in central London that was holding a party in celebration of Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Messenger service, and event that was packed with journalists , and members of the cast of The Only Way is Essex, and saw an earlier performance by Jessie J was marred by a stabbing.

According to The Telegraph, shortly after midnight police were called to the venue where a man was apparently stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle. The unnamed man was taken to an east London hospital and said to be in a serious condition.

Apparently witnesses stated that once Jessie J ended her performance at roughly 11:40 PM, there was a stampede for the cloakroom and a dispute started resulting in a man being stabbed in the neck by a broken bottle. At the BlackBerry Messenger event was Channel 4 tech correspondent Benjamin Cohen who said he saw a bouncer covered in blood in the toilets afterwards.

Cohen said that there was a huge rush to the cloakroom as everyone tired to leave at the same time and the organisers weren’t geared up for that, several people were being sick and crying, whether from alcohol or the blood, and a lot were teen users of BlackBerry who didn’t appear to have had a free drink before, and when on to say that this was ‘atrocious for BlackBerry.’

The police stopped approximately 400 attendees from leaving the BlackBerry Messenger event until about 1:50 AM whilst they investigated the crime; video of the event below.
