Is iOS better than Android or visa versa? Well Carphone Warehouse UK seems to have the answer; smartphone sales were on the up for CW this Christmas thanks to Google’s Android system.

According to The Guardian smartphones that have Google’s Android operating system outsold Apple iPhones at Carphone Warehouse and that CW’s shares rose 4.25p to 389.25p.

The Guardian also reports that that Android offers many benefits such as a choice of different Android-based smartphones for as little as £99, as you are aware the iPhone 4 with no contracts costs £510.

The Telegraph has in depth information about the report via Carphone Warehouse UK saying that like-for-like sales growth of 2.3 percent, Carphone Warehouse says about 75 percent of phone sales were sold over a three month period to January 1, 2011.
