Coolpad Mega 2.5D hits India through Amazon for Rs. 6,999

#

Coolpad and LeEco are set to team up for something unique soon, but while we wait, Coolpad has other devices push. One of them is the Coolpad Mega 2.5D, which has just been announced for consumers in India.

Coolpad has been pretty busy in 2016 as we’ve seen smartphones from their Max lineup, a couple of Notes, and a handful of various handsets. The Coolpad Mega 2.5D is the latest smartphone to launch from their arsenal and sports the popular 2.5D glass with a bit of a curve. The company says it also has a 73% screen-to-body ratio, which is never a bad thing.

The display on the Coolpad Mega 2.5D clocks in at 5.5-inches and has a resolution of 1,280 x 720. The phablet pulls its power from a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P, which is backed by 3GB of RAM - somewhat of a surprise. That trend continues with the storage as you will get 16GB out of the box and it is expandable through a microSD card slot.

Coolpad knows folks dig selfies, so they opted for an 8MP front-facing camera and a similar 8MP snapper on the back although it comes with an LED flash. It is of average size for its class as well measuring 153mm x 76.8mm x 7.85mm with a weight of 143grams. All the usual boxes are checked when it comes to connectivity with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 4G VoLTE. The Dual-SIM device has a 2,500mAh battery and runs CoolUI 8.0, which is based on Android 6.0.

The Coolpad Mega 2.5D won’t make its debut until August 24 when it will appear on Amazon.in through a Flash Sale. Registrations are open today at the link below, and the handset will be available in Gold, Black or White for Rs. 6,999.
