After 2 months of work it appears that Cyanogen has now announced the availability of CyanogenMod 6.1 RC1 is ready and available for download to your Android device and apparently is good enough to be a daily driver although any remaining bugs will be sorted in quick order.

According to an article over on Android Police by Artem Russakovskii, CyanogenMod 6.1 Release Candidate 1features instant performance boosts over all platforms, new email features, FM radio support, Pedlar’s notification powerbar and powerful features in the camera application along with much more.

The current downloads of CyanogenMod 6.1 RC1 are for the HTC EVO 4G, HTC Aria, HTC Dream, HTC Magic, HTC myTouch 3G slide and the Nexus One smartphones
