Dolphin browser for Android featuring Sonar with voice

Word is the Dolphin browser for Android mobile devices received a new feature the other day, and that feature was a voice-controlled feature that enables the user to search the Internet by using their voice, and the feature is known as Dolphin Sonar and can be gained by grabbing the updated version of Dolphin for Android from the market.

According to the guys over at Mashable, the Dolphin Sonar feature enables the user to open new tabs by simply speaking to the browser, and can apparently search within websites.

Dolphin for Android v7.4 is the updated version and along with that Dolphin Sonar voice recognition feature also delivers improvements to browser speed, and to activate the new Sonar feature all you need to do is either shake your Android smartphone or tap the microphone icon at the bottom of the display and begin speaking.

Dolphin browser released to Android back in 2010 whilst iOS gained the browser last summer, and has apparently been downloaded some 12 million times over both platforms, but unfortunately that Dolphin Sonar voice recognition feature isn’t available to iOS devices quite yet.

For those Android users that would like to grab the updated version to give Dolphin Sonar a whirl the app is called Dolphin Browser HD and can be downloaded for free to your Android device running Android 2.0.1 or above from the Android Market, and of course if you do, feel free to let us know how you get on with that Dolphin Sonar feature.
