Droid RAZR additions announced at CES 2012

For those that love the Droid family of smartphones by Motorola you might like to know that there are a couple of new editions to the Motorola Droid RAZR range coming in the next couple of weeks as Motorola and Verizon made this announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Motorola along with partner Verizon announced a new colour variant for the Motorola RAZR and will now become available in purple and will command a price tag of $199.99 when signing on for the usual two-year contract with the Big Red.

More noteworthy than the new colour option is the announcement of the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX, a device designed for those that spend most of their time multi-tasking and comes with a total memory of 32GB with a battery that is said to deliver up to 21-hours on a single charge and will command a price tag of $299.99 with a two-year agreement.

Both the Motorola Droid RAZR and Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX sport a 1.2GHz dual core processor and are 4G LTE enabled and run the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system; however both devices will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich as some point.

Both Droid smartphones will become available via Verizon Wireless in the coming weeks along with several accessories including a 10.1-inch Lapdock 100, a 14-inch Lapdock 500 Pro, and both devices will require a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan starting at $39.99 a month along with a smartphone data package starting at $30 per month.

So there you have it, will you be opting to pick up the purple Droid RAZR or will you go for the Droid RAZR MAXX?
