Facebook iPhone Problems: Is it crashing on you?

Loads of emails seem to be coming surrounding the iPhone, this time round it is not reception issues nor WiFi network connection it is to do with Facebook.

Once we received these emails we thought we would take a look over on TiPB to see if they have wrote anything about it and they did, some are complaining that when they click on their Facebook for iPhone App icon it opens then crashes, basically crashing on launch.

A few of my colleagues and myself all went on the Facebook app with no problems what so ever, but then it has been a little slow whilst in Facebook. We are not to sure if it is the app or the backend that is the problem so we will let you answer that for us.

Please let us know if you are having any problems Facebook iPhone problems, is it crashing on you? Please post all your comments below, go on sound off.

My facebook app is still crashing when I try to open it on my iPhone. I have tried to reload a new Facebook app and it still won’t open. When I do click on the facebook app button on my iPhone Facebook opens thru the Internet only.

    I have a 3GS w/updated IOS4

  2. Susan says:

Facebook on iPhone 3GS is not refreshing. I can load new posts, but if I exit and re-enter the app, it is back to where it was before. Until a day or so ago, all updates seemed to be pushed to iPhone real-time. Nothing has changed with phone (have been running on OS4 since it was released).

  3. Andy says:

I have an iPhone 4 & when I start the facebook app it updates the times of posts but not the new posts. If I log on using the computer there are a load more posts on my wall than I’m seeing in the iPhone app. I can’t even see my own posts on the iPhone app.

  4. Danielle says:

I have an iPhone 3GS with updated os4 software. Facebook used to refresh automatically when I opened it. It stopped doing that a few days ago and now it won’t even load. When I try to open it it goes to a black screen.

  5. Tabby says:

I’ve been having facebbok issues since downloading the latest update. I cannot update my status. When I write in an update and hit update nothing happens. It freezes then crashes. It’s getting very annoying. Any ideas on how to fix?

  6. Ali says:

Mine is the same. When I try and update my status or comment on something it crashes. And doesn't push the updates like it used to. I have to ask it to load new posts.

my 3g keep crashing constantly. so frustrating. I have to delete and reinstall facebook app each time. Not cool when its meant to be decent technology.

When I try to update my status it crashes. I have iPhone 3GS with iPhone 4 updated software. It is also extremely slow when adding comments to others status.

  9. steve says:

Weird. Facebook app crashes every time at log in with my wife's username and password, while with my information the app works fine on the same phone.

  10. Tammy says:

every time I load it, it goes onto the status page and then immediately jumps back to the apps menu-I cant even read anything on it, or log out or anything.

  11. Marie says:

I can access all my friends’ facebook profiles via the app except one! Every time I go onto it, it looks like it’s loading then shuts down, putting me straight back to my app page… Any ideas? Iv deleted the app and reloaded but it’s still the same ….

  12. Mine 3gs wont let me get older posts. At first it would not let me get any. Then it let me get it once, now it will only let me get them twice and then it shuts down. i tried turning the phone off and on. Logged out and in. Deleted the application and reloaded. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

  13. Enjoyed facebook on my IPhone3G for about a year until three days ago when it began to crash imediately after opening. I have re-loaded facebook twice, hoping this would change something, but it hasn’t. No changes other than automatic up-dates of other apps. so now will attempt to remember which and possibly delete apps I don’t use so much and see if that helps. Finding this unbeliavebly frustrating!!!

  16. Dave says:

Same here with my iPhone 3G. All of a sudden, Facebook now crashes on launch. Have deinstalled and reinstalled the app thru iTunes twice, restarting the iPhone at every deinstall and reinstall. Suspect it is a glitch at the Facebook server side of things. Maybe they will clue in and give us a fix in the coming days?

  17. Joanna says:

I have a 3GS. My FB app requires me to login every time and when I do, it loads for a few seconds then comes right back to the login page. It won’t go further than that.

  18. Nella says:

Yes Im havingthe same problem. As soon as I launch facebook on my iPhone 3gs, it crashes and the screen goes back to my app page. It will do this for a couple of days then it will work properly. Apple, fix this problem or u gonna loose customers!!!!

  19. Jill says:

Same thing happening here with no clue as to why. I have uninstalled and reinstalled TWICE with multiple restarts of the phone. It works sometimes but not all of the time or will let me see updated status' but nothing else.

  20. I have an IPhone 3GS. I was attempting to read the posts on Facebook’s Newsfeed. Suddenly, my screen switched to Facebook icons, and lost half of the brightness.
Now the screen is frozen and I have to go through the Internet to access Facebook. This has happened on three other occasions. Facebook has been reloaded once which helped. The second and third times .. Facebook mysteriously
was restored. This is extremely frustrating!

  21. Michael f says:

Facebook is frozen or something because I was going to send a message to my friend from my iPhone and all of a sudden I’m in the app menu… now when I click on the facebook app it is like if I was going to send my friend a message and when I click cancel I go to the apps menu… I can’t even log off on the iPhone app
