France: Orange launching Apple iPhone 3G July 17, Rates and Plans Unveiled

Orange has finally announced that the Apple iPhone 3G will be launching in France on July 17, we all know about the iPhone 3G so there is no need to bang on about specs, all you want is prices, plans etc and that is what we will give you.

Orange in France will be selling the iPhone 3G from €149 (US$234), as an exclusive operator for this country and Orange plan subscribers who are upgrading from their old iPhone will be able to get the awesome 3G version at a preferential rate. The all new iPhone will add 3G/3G+ technology, which of course with Orange covers 66% of the French population today, if you are out of the 3G areas the mobile broadband is available via EDGE and Orange WiFi, the iPhone will switch networks automatically.

Now the prices, the Apple iPhone 3G 8GB version will be sold for €149 with subscription to Orange for iPhone, Origami Star (from 3 hours). First and Jet plans. The 16GB version will be sold at €199, with the same plans. With other plans (except time-cut-off and pay-as-you-go), the 8 GB iPhone will sell from €199 and the 16 GB model from €249. So from €32 per month (1-hour Origami Star plan), Orange continues to promote wide-scale mobile usages, offering customers unlimited internet access (up to a fair usage limit of 500 MB) from their iPhone. Under the Orange loyalty upgrade programme, the 8Gb 3G iPhone will sell from €199 and the 16 GB version from €249 with a 24-month contract, the 3G iPhone will also be launched for Orange Business Services clients on 17 July 2008.

Orange for iPhone plans
In November 2007, Orange developed a range of specific Orange for iPhone plans which proved highly successful.

These plans are specially designed for customers to reap maximum, unrestricted benefit from all iPhone features, including unlimited web, email and visual voice mail. They cover all customer usages: 98% of Orange for iPhone customers surf the web on their iPhones, consuming an average of 100 Mb per month. Orange customers who bought an iPhone before 12 June 2008 and are using it with an Orange plan (except time-cut-off, Initial and Mobicarte) will be able to buy the 3G iPhone for €99 through a €100 refund valid until 31 October 2008, as part of the “Changer de mobile” programme (i.e.: Change your mobile) and subject to a 24-month contract. The refund offer will be available to Orange Business Services clients from 17 July 2008.
