Huawei Honor 5X heads stateside through Best Buy

#

If you reside in the states, Huawei handsets still aren’t very easy to come by. As of today, their U.S. arsenal has become a little stronger with the launch of the Huawei Honor 5X at Best Buy in the states.

The Huawei Honor 5X has been out in certain parts of the world for months now, and while we heard it would hit the states, the release date was a bit uncertain. While you can’t stroll into a carrier an pick one up, the company opted for the next best thing in Best Buy. The giant retailer is getting a massive launch through the store, and it still carries an affordable price tag of $199 unlocked.

If you are wondering what makes the U.S. launch of the Huawei 5X unique, it’s the combination of specifications and price. The handset has plenty of screen thanks to an FHD panel that clocks in at 5.5-inches, and you’ll have plenty of pop with the Snapdragon 616. The 64-bit chip gets a boost from 2GB of RAM, and while there is only 16GB of storage under the hood, it is expandable through the usual means.

Cameras are a big selling point in the smartphone world these days, and the Huawei 5X is solid in that department. On the backside, you will find a 13MP sensor with an LED flash while the front-facing snapper is listed at 5MP. All the usual boxes are checked in the connectivity department as well including 4G LTE. The Huawei 5X draws its juice from a 3,000mAh battery and is listed as running Android 5.1.

The Huawei Honor 5X is ready to roll from Best Buy in Gold, Grey or Silver with a price tag of $199. At this time, it’s available online but the company hopes to have it in the majority of its retail locations by the weekend.
