As you are probably aware the future of the mobile phone space lies with 4G networks and it’s not just the big named carriers over in the US such as Verizon Wireless who are gearing up to go with 4G LTE as India and China are doing likewise.

According to an article over on Intomobile by Dusan Belic and by way of Mobile Business Briefing, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China has given the go ahead for China Mobile to start their TD-LTE trials in 6 cities.

Those 6 cities will be Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xaimen, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Guangzhou. China Mobile will explore both the commercial and technical performance of the TD-LTE network and devices by using equipment from various vendors which include Nokia Siemens and Ericsson and that ZTE, Huawei and Alcatel-Lucent will also join in with a view to launching TD-LTE services sometime in 2012.

India not to be left out, has Reliance Industries closing a selection of vendors for a rollout of their TD-LTE network which is said to cost $1 billion and is apparently working with Huawei, Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent; however is isn’t clear yet whether it is intended to be split between multiple partners or a single vendor.
