Is Nokia and Verizon planning joint 4G mobile phone?

Word hitting the net waves is that Nokia is working on a new touchscreen smartphone that is destined for Verizon Wireless’s new 4G wireless network which apparently will go active in 2010.

Nokia and Verizon, so it is claimed, are working together to develop a mobile handset for the super-fast 4G network which is jointly owned by Verizon Communications and Vodafone using a tech known as LTE or Long Term Evolution.

A Nokia spokesperson has denied that Nokia has entered into any such exclusive arrangement with Verizon Wireless, buy he didn’t deny they are working together.
