iTajPlus for iPhone app helps you see the city of the Taj Mahal

Smartphone owners have endless amounts of applications that can be downloaded that have a number of different uses. There are a variety of great travel applications available and today we have news of iTajPlus for the iPhone, which is ideal if you are visiting the city of the Taj Mahal.

This application will let users discover the history and architecture of the city of Agra, which is the home of the Taj Mahal. The application is downloaded to the device and all the information is used offline avoiding expensive roaming charges.

It features all the various monuments of the city along with information on restaurants, shops, and much more. There are self guided Audio tours of the three key monuments in Agra that include the Taj Mahal, Itmad-Ud-Daulah, and Sikandra that have all been thoroughly researched for the application.

There is a mix of architectural facts, legend, and history that can also be read instead of listened to, and the offline maps are ideal for users to find their way around the city finding all the restaurants, sights, and shops. Navigating around the city has never been easier thanks to the app as the city suffers from poor sign posting.

The major sights that are worth a visit are listed with photos, rank, and useful information such as ticket prices, opening prices, and items that cannot be taken inside. Using GPS the app will provide users with a distance from all the sights from their current location, as well as all the shops and restaurants.

Users can take advantage of either one or two day plans, and share their favourite places to either Facebook or Twitter using a Wi-Fi connection. The application allows users to manage the battery life of the handset from the settings screen of the app.

iTajPlus 1.0.1 is available on the App Store for only £1.99/$2.99. Requires iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch running iOS 4.2 or later.
