LG K10 and LG K7 announced ahead of CES 2016

#

Earlier today, we told you about some funky new displays in the works from the folks at LG Display. Well, they’ve also announced a couple of new smartphones ahead of CES 2016 with the LG K10 and LG K7.

We expect to see plenty of surprises at CES this year, and many of those will be smartphones and slates that slipped through the cracks of the rumor mill. LG’s new handset fit that bill, and they are geared towards folks that are looking for a solid camera setup that won’t break the bank. The rest of the LG K10 and LG K7 specs aren’t half bad either, and both include some interesting features to set them apart from the pack.

First up is the LG K7 with a 5-inch 480 x 854 panel, 5MP front-facing camera and 2,125mAh battery. There are two options when it comes to connectivity in 4G LTE and 3G with the former sporting a quad-core 1.1GHz chip while the latter has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The same can be said with RAM and storage as you’ll get options of 1GB/1.5GB or 8GB/16GB. A 2,125mAh battery keeps the lights on while Android 5.1 runs the show.

The options trend continues with the LG K10, but it’s got a bit more pop as the LTE model has a 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It also has a 2,300mAh battery that powers a 5.3-inch panel with a resolution of 1,280 x 720. As for the RAM, there is 1GB, 1.5GB or 2GB while the storage capacity comes in 8GB or 16GB. The 3G variant sports a 1.3GHz quad-core chip and appears to keep most of the same options as the LTE model.

In the camera department, the LG K7 will give you the choice between an 8MP or 5MP rear camera while the front-facing snapper is listed at 5MP. The LG K10 has either a 13MP/8MP or 13MP/5MP camera combo on the LTE model and the 3G version sports an 8MP/8MP or 8MP/5MP combo. Both handsets will come with Gesture Shot and all the other bells & whistles on the software side of things.

Pricing and availability for the LG K10 and LG K7 are still up in the air, but the smartphones will be shown off at CES this week so we expect that to change soon.
