Motorola Grasp WX404 MetroPCS: Review & Opinions

The new Motorola Grasp WX404 will be sold via MetroPCS and has an estimated release date of 3rd Quarter 2010, no price has been specified as of yet but you can look at paying somewhere around $100 on contract.

The Motorola Grasp is not a GSM phone so it will not work on GSM networks so be warned before you buy, the main features on this BlackBerry looking handset includes a 2.2-inch 220×176 pixels display, IM client pre-installed, 950 mAH battery, Bluetooth, 1.3-megapixel camera and GPS.

It also has QWERTY keyboard that is great for those that love to text, CDMA/EVDO/AWS 3G radio, BFR and PCV free and the housing case is 100% recyclable and that makes this an eco-friendly handset.

Please do let us know what you think of the Motorola Grasp WX404, as soon as you get your hands on this phone please do send in your personal reviews. To check out the full specifications please visit PhoneScoop

I have had my grasp for 2 weeks and have had to exchange it already for another new out of the box one because when someone sends me a text the phone just randomely choses a name from my phone book and says thats who it is from…I guess the upside is once i stop looking at it in confusion as to why my doctors office is sending me text messages…I open it and then it finally reveals who the actual sender is. This has happend on TWO new phones now and I can't seem to find a fix 🙁

My grasp just completely stopped working after about a month and a half, not to mention glitches similar to the ones mentioned before. It was also really slow.
I had it with US Cellular, not MetroPCS.

My Motorola grasp does the same thing with my contacts and sometime the screen just completely turns blank (still lit up) I have to take mine back also.

I can't thank you guys enough for your reviews!!! I was checking reviews for my daughter. My daughter is just turning 18 and moving out on her own. I wanted her to take the time to find a phone that would be useful as well as long lasting. She liked it because it was purple (she is blonde, LOL). I couldn't find any info on the phone, so your input was greatly appreciated. Guess we are going to go with the other phone she liked. She too is w/ US Cellular. Its a shame, it looks like it could have been a nice phone if they had put a little more work into it.

I just bought my phone about 2 weeks ago and i have problems with the mp3 player and the blue toothing… I haven't had trouble with text messaging yet but don't mean i wont. I ddin't get a 2 yr contract with mine its pre paid and i paid 120.00 for mine. Will they take my and change it for another at us cellular?

I've had a similar issue with the text messaging coming up with someone else's name from time to time. People have said that my voice doesn't sound so great on their end so the sound quality could have been better. Other than that I haven't had any problems.

The only problem I have had is the battery doesn't stay charged very long. I'm debating on if I want to take it back and get the phone I was interested in. I also have US Cellular.

If my phone is on vibrate, sometimes it will vibrate but nothing has happened. No one sent me a text or anything, and it wont even light up. Anyone else have this happen to them?

  9. Wendy says:

My daughter has the same problems as listed!!! The phone vibrates for no reason. Also incoming texts are wrongly named. Looks like we will be exchanging for a completely different phone. Thanks for everyone's input!!!

My phone is messed up. I havent had it for very long, and treated it right. And when I go to my conversation with someone and try to scroll up, it scrolls and scrolls and doesnt stop. It has been doing this since a while after I got it. And it takes forever to get on my messages.

I have a local cell phone service and I had a Motorola Hint and the screen stopped working on it and the Motorola Grasp was the phone to replace it for insurance purposes. I didn't have the Grasp for a week and it began restarting itself, making a noise that sounded like glass breaking when I got a text message. It's constantly freezing up and not wanting to charge when it's plugged up. I have sooo many problems with it that I might as well not even have a cell phone, people that I'm trying to talk to can't hear me and I can't hear them, and that's if it doesn't drop the call (even when I have several bars of signal).

i am having problems with the optical joystick..i have to press REALLY hard to be able to click on anything..and sometimes when i try to move the optical joystick it just keeps moving around and it wont stop..and i also have problems with the phone saying a text is from a certain person and then it ends up being someone totally different..i like the phone but everyonce and a while i feel like chucking it at the wall! i wouldnt reccomend it if you dont have patience

I have had the phone for 6 months, at first I had problems with it being really slow, but I realized that if you have more than 300 messages in your inbox, it just can work at a reasonable pace. Sometimes I have to scroll over the joystick five or six time to click on another option. The worst problem I have had so far though, started yesterday, my phone freezes every time time you use the optical joystick. Every time! I have to take out the battery because it’ll stay frozen for a long time. Oh and also when I use the internet browser, it scrolls down the page before I have time to read it! If it had none of these problems it would be perfect but right now it is a pain in the butt!
