Nokia Lumia 610 low contract price via UK stores

We quite often bring you news of more affordable Android smartphones here on Phones Review, but today we can tell you about the cheaper Windows Phone handset from Nokia in the shape of the Lumia 610, which will have a low contract price via UK stores.

The handset is now available to consumers in the UK, and while it may not compare to the rest of the Lumia range, according to Engadget it will be available on a contract from as little as £15 per month. Nokia are stating that the handset will be offered by O2, T-Mobile, Orange, Virgin Mobile, and Vodafone. Consumers will also be able to pick one up via high street retailers such as Phones 4u and the Carphone Warehouse.

Nokia is calling the device the most affordable Lumia smartphone so far, and it will come in four colour choices that include black, white, magenta, and cyan. The specifications of the Lumia 610 don’t quite match up to the 710, 800, or 900 and features a single core 800 MHz processor with only 256MB of RAM. There is also an eight megapixel camera and 8GB of on board storage, and previously Microsoft released a Tango update for the platform that would allow lower end devices such as the Lumia 610 to use the operating system.

Even though most things will run smoothly on the handset there are a number of applications that won’t run on the device, but you do get the Nokia Drive, Maps, and Music applications preinstalled on the handset as well as Xbox Live integration. Users also get the Microsoft Office application that gives access to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word while on the go. Meanwhile OneNote mobile allows users to quickly capture notes, pictures, voice memos, and ideas.

The device is also available via online retailer Amazon in black for only £167.99, while on rival retailer Play it’s even cheaper at £159.99. Do you like the look of the Nokia Lumia 610?
