Nokia will not show new phones at MWC 2010

Strange as it may seem, but the largest mobile phone producer in the world, Nokia has apparently said they will not be showing off any new mobile phones during Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona next week, reports Bloomberg.

Apparently someone who is involved in the planning has said that it will be the first time in at least a decade that Nokia hasn’t shown any mobile devices.

Nokia will be there though, although low key and will not have a stand and focus on announcements related to services, and will highlight Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo’s try to transform Nokia from a “pure mobile phone maker to a company offering customer paid apps and media on its devices.”

According to the Nokia website, they will be holding offsite briefings during Mobile World Congress 2010
