Sony Xperia SL aka LT26ii could be new S refresh

For those that love Sony Xperia smartphones, it appears that Sony have yet another Xperia handset gearing up to hit the mobile space at some point in the future. A Sony smartphone that bares the model number LT26ii, but also known as the Sony Xperia SL handset.

The evidence of the Sony Xperia SL comes to our attention by the guys over at Ubergizmo and by way of the Xperia Blog, who say the device appears on an Indonesian portal site, and suggest that the Sony Xperia SL could well be a refresh of the Sony Xperia S.

The reason for the presumption that the Sony Xperia SL is a Sony Xperia S refresh is that the Sony Xperia S does happen to have the model number LT26i, so naturally the assumption is LT26ii is a refresh.

You’ll probably know that back in 2011 Sony went this same route with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S that was a 1.4GHz variant of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. However, unfortunately nothing else is known about this Sony Xperia SL smartphone, but we could see the device coming out to play sometime in the second half of 2012.

No doubt the Sony Xperia SL will feature a slight bump up in specs, but just what specs that handset will deliver remains unknown, but we will of course pass any further information along to our readers on the Sony Xperia SL as soon as we hear, and who knows, perhaps the Sony Xperia S will be an Android Jelly Bean handset.

Haha it’ll probably be released with ics and have to wait at least 3 to 4 months after jelly bean has been released, like the xperia s is at the moment :*)
