Sony Xperia Z, C, E, Y NXT series handsets possibly on way

It appears that Sony has a few new Xperia smartphones that could possibly be launching sometime later in 2012, and these four new handsets are said to be second generation NXT series handsets called the Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia C, Sony Xperia E and the Sony Xperia Y.

According to the guys over at Phone Arena by way of the Xperia Blog, the Sony Xperia Z is a flagship smartphone that will possibly be released sometime this August, whilst the other Xperia NXT smartphones have been slated for July.

The guys say that the original Sony portfolio leak has a flagship with the codename Mint 1 with an unveiling set for September, whilst two of the handsets could be international models of the Sony Xperia GX and Sony Xperia SX meant for Japan.

So what is known about these second generation NTX Xperia handsets? Well word has it all will pack an OLED display along with a Snapdragon S4 chipset, T camera series Cybershot lenses, Walkman music player, and apparently all will be PlayStation certified.

Having said all this, of course nothing has been confirmed by Sony about these NXT series smartphones, and as such this should be treated as pure rumour for the moment; however as Sony Mobile is holding a media event on the 20th of this month, it isn’t all that long before we find out if this rumour turns out to be spot on or not.
