T-Mobile Android Video Chat to Play Nice with Qik

When it comes to video chat service with T-Mobile’s Android smartphone line up, T-Mobile’s video chat service is to be powered by mobile video firm Qik and is the first to offer native Android address book integration with Video chat.

According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by Andrew Munchbach and by way of PRnewswire, the Qik integrated video chat service will enable users to conduct 2-way video chats from their Android smartphone and will be included in the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch 4G handset.

T-Mobile vice president of product management, Andrew Sherrard has said, “T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik is the ideal showcase for the capabilities of our network and is an example of our focus on providing innovative new solutions to enrich the lives of our customers.”

With the Qik integrated video chat service T-Mobile users will also be able to leave “video messages” and video messages are supported on in excess of 200 handsets.
