PacketVideo have now released the myTwonky beta and Twonky Video app for Android enabling Android users to discover and store music, videos and images anywhere and anytime from your existing library and new content from the web via your smartphone, PC or Mac.

The Twonky Video app for Android enables the user to browse online for favourite video clips, or access personal videos stored on their home network of smartphone and features Twonky’s patent pending “Beaming technology,” which enables beaming of content found on the users myTownky account with any web-connected TV or device in your home.

The Twonky Video app also works with AirPlay enabled devices such as Apple TV, Upnp and DLNA certified devices.

MyTwonky is a user customised web portal, which searches for new content on the Internet based on the users personal music and video preferences whereby the user tells myTwonky what topics they are most interested in and they receive a running stream to related content.

Creating a free Twonky account enables the user to start creating specific video channels and bookmarking favourite content, select streaming radio stations via genre and view your music library in the same location, you can register for a myTownky account by hitting up here.

Your myTownky account also allows the integration of social networking sites such a FaceBook and Twitter for easy access to multimedia that may be stored on those networks, and also share myTownky content with those social networks.

PacketVideo CEO Jim Brailean says, “Our goal with myTwonky and the Twonky Music and Video apps was to reimagine how people collect and consume media content. We’re creating a truly immersive experience that lets you easily engage with your existing media library, what you find on the Web, things you already love and things you are about to love.”

For those Android users that wish to take advantage of the Twonky Video app for Android you can do so by downloading the application to your chosen device for free from the Android Market.
