Toshiba Portege G810 to hit shelves on June 20th

Seems Toshiba’s so called iPhone busting Portege G810 mobile phone is about to hit the shelves, as according Akihabara it will be released on the 20th June, although as yet Akihabara hasn’t intimated what price the Toshiba Portege G810 is to command.

Spec wise on the Toshiba Portege G810 mobile phone (I do wish Toshiba would give it a new name, as I relate their Protégé to their laptop computers more than mobile phones), anyway spec wise the all-touch-screen Portege G810 is almost identical to say the HTC Touch Diamond, but fails a tad to deliver the VGA resolution on its 2.8 inch display, opting for QVGA instead.

So what else does the Toshiba Portege G810 have to offer? Well you’ll find is has GPS along with A-GPS support, Bluetooth, WiFi, HSDPA/HSUPA, FM radio with RDS, ye old faithful microSD slot, and running the whole shebang is Windows Mobile 6.1.

To be honest the Toshiba Portege G810 isn’t that great to get all excited about when you consider the likes of the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro, Sony Ericsson’s EXPERIA, Samsung’s i900 Omnia, along with a few Gigabyte and E-TEN mobile handsets have raised the bar of expectation in the Windows Mobile arena, and well, QVGA just isn’t good enough anymore.

Once we know the pricing of the Toshiba Portege G810 we’ll update for you.
