Apple iPhone 2.1 firmware and iTunes 8 nearing launch

Most are awaiting the new iTunes 8 at least as much as the next generation iPods, and hopefully Apple’s “Let’s Rock” will see the unveiling of this new platform and give us an idea of its features.

Earlier leaks told us about the Genius auto playlist along with support for a second generation iPod classic, and hopefully all will be confirmed within a day or so.

Also, Apple iPhone 2.1 firmware should become available on Tuesday 9th, and will be a version which will repair bugs within the current firmware version, and is thought to offer support for background push notification and directional GPS.
