Palm report another straight loss but higher smartphone sales

Palm has again reported their 5th straight quarterly loss even thought having higher smartphone sales. Palm posted a net loss of $41.9 million for the three months ending Aug. 31st.

Revenue slowly inched up to reach $366.9 million, compared with $360.8 million for the same time period last year. This is mainly due to the Palm Centro, Palm managing to ship in excess of 1 million smartphones during the quarter which is a 49 percent increase on last year.

The Palm Centro touch-screen has been a shining light for Palm with them shifting more than 2 million handset in less that a year.
