Nokia to launch mobile remote Home Control Centre in 09

Next year, Nokia is planning on shipping a complete phone based home solution called the Z-wave Home Control Centre, which allows the user to control the system in their home via a web enabled mobile browser.

The Z-wave Home Control Centre platform is said to be open to improve interoperability whilst cutting costs which are associated with propriety solutions. So basically what Nokia is attempting to do is what Google has done with Android but Nokia want to do it in your home.

The word is Nokia will partner RWE who own nPower in the UK, and intend to develop a “comprehensive solution for managing energy consumption and CO2 footage at home.” Also the rumour is we will be seeing a working demo of this at February 09 Mobile World Congress.
