Ted Rogers the Founder of Rogers Communications dies age 75

The man who founded Canada’s biggest cable television and wireless carrier Rogers Communications almost 50 years ago has died today aged 75.

According to a spokeswomen at Rogers, Ted Rogers Jr died this morning, he had been suffering for deteriorating health conditions recently, he had also had stopped his duties as Chief Executive of Rogers back in October.

The Toronto based billionaire turned a small radio station into an huge communications empire worth billions, he also ranked as the second richest man with an estimated net worth of C$7.6 billion ($6.1 billion) in “Rich 100” the Canadian Business Magazine.

Rogers was a man who took huge risks, some he won and some he lost but according to CEO of Jim Pattison Group, Ted Rogers Jr was the number one entrepreneur in Canada.
