Obama BlackBerry may be spy device for Canada?

Ah the ins and outs of politics can be a funny thing especially over in the US, as apparently all this hoo-har over President Barack Obama and his BlackBerry smartphone seems to be leading to some international sniping by none other than Microsoft.

As it is, Obama wants to keep hold of his BlackBerry although the NSA wants him to use the Sectera Edge so he may use both, and this is what has seemingly got Microsoft’s back up.

Randy Siegal is a Microsoft enterprise mobile strategist that works on federal government projects in the US, and he says that if Obama stays with the BlackBerry, the president will be sending his data outside the US.

Heavens above, the Canadians, one presumes Canada is still friendly with the US and shouldn’t be a problem as I’m sure RIM and BlackBerry aren’t used as spying devices by the Canadian government…or are they?
