Japanese NEC to re-launch mobile phones overseas

According to an article over on unwiredview, the 3rd largest mobile phone manufacturer in Japan, NEC, has plans to re-launch their handsets outside their home country in 2010.

Apparently NEC sold handset in China and Europe up until 07 when revenue losses forced them to change strategy. However as Japanese demand dropped some 29 percent this year, NEC now plans to offer their good abroad again.

According to Reuters, and NEC spokesperson has said that the European market is a possibility, and NEC plans on selling a minimum of 1 million mobile phones abroad with a price tag of about $300.
