Fly with your mobile phone, boarding passes on your handset

Great news, which will make boarding a plane easier with a paperless boarding system on your mobile.

The Transportation Security Administration have launched a new free, mobile phone based boarding pass system at San Francisco International Airport. The Paperless system is now available at 30 US airports and it allows passengers to download their tickets straight to their phone or PDA just by visiting a link that is sent to them after they have booked the flight.

At the terminal entrance, officers scan the passengers phone or PDA device at a kiosk which then validates a two dimensional bar code included on the passengers paperless ticket. Then they show a government ID card to the agent in order to gain entrance to the boarding area. Go to mercurynews.com for more information.
