Palm saying goodbye to Windows Mobile for WebOS

It has been confirmed by Palm that its next generation mobile devices will be exclusively run on its own operating system Palm WebOS.

Back in February it’s first generation Palm OS operating systems was dumped but Palm did say that they would continue to support Microsoft Windows products. However, yesterday Palm announced in a conference call that it would only be including Palm WebOS based devices in future developments.

The new Palm Pre is included in these products, which according to the company helped boost its first quarter financial results after the release in North America. It is expected that as the Palm Pre rolls out in other parts of the world before the end of the year this will also boost Palms second quarter results. Source – computerweekly.com
