AT&T to offer Google Android Phones

Apparently as AT&T is soon to lose their exclusivity over the iPhone they are stepping into the Android arena by offering Android handsets and Palm handsets as well reports an article on the WSJ.

The iconic iPhone accounted for 28 percent of AT&T’s new customer additions over the first 9 months of 2009 and AT&T has decided to expand their handset portfolio even though they are receiving complaints from customers that the network can’t handle what iPhone traffic it is already getting.

A spokesperson for AT&T has declined to add anything about their exclusivity deal with the iPhone or on if it has anything to do with expanding their handset offerings and also declined to comment on any pricing and details of what those handsets may be.

Apparently AT&T has announced they will offer 5 Android devices developed by HTC, Dell and Motorola in the first half of the year, and will be the exclusive carrier of the Dell Mini 3.
