Why Google’s Nexus One may just be that superphone

We are all fully aware now of the phone being talked about everywhere as it continues to dominate the headlines Google’s Nexus One may not be quite the superphone it has been made out to be.

It doesn’t really raise the smartphone bar although the Nexus One is a slick unit and is the most up to date Android platform and has at least the same amount of comparable features as thr Motorola Droid and the HTC Hero, however it’s gains over lets say the Droid are incremental there is no iPhone style revolution here.

Google is now classed as an e-retailer, and the Nexus One is only the first in what could be a whole slew of products available directly from Google. Google’s ambitions are probably best summed up as what looks like a push to become a MDP managed device platform.

This new category of managed devices will only be delivered by a small handful or so of vendors that will have the resources to manage the end to end delivery of web services to consumer devices. Source – crn.com
