Samsung’s green initiative in US to recycle a million handsets

Samsung Mobile announced yesterday the launch of a new green initiative in the United States in an attempt to recycle one million handsets during this year.

The Eco focused programme of it’s March to a Million pledge is set to around seven million middle and high school students in approx 9,500 schools in the United States and it is intended to educate students on the importance of mobile phone recycling.

The company has numerous eco friendly initiatives in place including the Mobile Take Back program and also last years Samsung Reclaim, the very first mobile phone in the US contracted from eco friendly bio plastic materials.

The March to a Million programme is also intended to support eco management 2013 Plan that Samsung announced back in July of 2009. This plan includes a number if goals to be achieved by Samsung in 2013 including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the delivery of eco friendly products and more.
