iPhone Reception, AT&T Network or Apple Fault?

Apparently the iconic iPhone has always had a reception problem and Apple has been aware of this since the first iPhone, but it hasn’t come drastically under the spotlight until the release of the new iPhone 4 and its redesigned antenna.

Recently Apple issued an open letter saying that the fault was due to the iPhone not showing the real bar strength and thus giving a false impression that the iPhone was receiving good signal strength, that’s how I figure it anyway.

The Wall Street Journal recently published a video giving a reasonable explanation of the situation which you can view below and while I was watching said video it raised a question about the iPhone and AT&T in as much that if the iPhone has always had this signal issue, is AT&T really to blame for poor reception?

It seems to me that for once Apple has held up their hands and said we are to blame whereas in the past AT&T has always had to shoulder the blame for all the crap associated with iPhone signal so just maybe AT&T have been receiving a bit of a rough deal when it comes to iPhone complaints, perhaps AT&T has been taking most of the flak to cover Apple’s ass. Check out the video below and let me know your thoughts by dropping us a comment below…thanks.
