iOS 4 Having Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

It appears that there have been some reports of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS running iOS 4 are having some issues with Bluetooth with users saying they are seeing muffled audio, sounds filtering in and out, weak reception and poor call quality over Bluetooth.

According to an article over on Pocket Now by Chuong Nguyen, the guys over at Slash Gear, notes that owners of ‘upgraded iPhone 3GS handsets or iPhone 4 units with the latest OS preloaded…describing sporadic connections, an inability to play music wirelessly and poor audio quality during calls.’

Apparently Nguyen has managed to replicate the issues described as far as call quality over Bluetooth using his iPhone 4 running iOS 4 along with a regular earpiece and in a case. Those that he called used their handset either on a table or on a case so not o interfere with the antenna and they use a Bluetooth headset as well.

Nguyen says that in seven out of ten calls made he noticed muffling and audio dropping in and out, however said issues did disappear when switching back to use the handset speakerphone or earpiece. Apparently online forums show that this issue isn’t due to any particular brand of Bluetooth product.

As usual Apple is not acknowledging this Bluetooth issue with iOS 4 on the iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS. Any of our iPhone toting readers experiencing Bluetooth problems?
