BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS 5.0.0.886 Update: Consumer Reviews

Recently leaked is the new BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS 5.0.0.886 update and we are calling out to users of this handset to let us know what is in the new upgrade.

We do not know what has changed so we are asking those that have installed the new update to let us know what is new, is this operating system update better than the previous one?

We would like to know if there were any problems, and added features, bug fixes, performance boost and so forth.

As usual when it comes to leaked updates we always recommend you backup before installing new software, of course you do this at your own risk. (We are not held responsible for your actions to install).

Other BlackBerry Updates Include: MetroPCS BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS 5.0.0.847

Just tried out the new sofware – now called Blackberry Desktop Manager. Incidentally, the download does not remove the old Desktop Manager program…
I am now unable to download photos from my device, as it is telling me I have no Media Card installed. I know that, but my photos are stored on the phone memory, and I cannot retrieve them now…

no new issues upon install, seems to run a bit faster, and the charging indicator (lightening bolt) flashes instead of staying on constantly.

I recommend not upgrading to this OS yet. It has some bugs of its own. Never had any issues with my phone until I upgraded and installed it. The same day I lost my ability to send texts to people from my contact list. I then, immediately downgraded via Blackberry.com….and viola! Texting ability returned
