Looks like the Big Blue is taking umbrage to T-Mobile USA’s claim that their HSPA+ network is actually a 4G network, and thus AT&T has released an official statement on the matter of T-Mobile’s supposed 4G network, although its more to do with who owns the biggest HSPA+ network than 4G..
According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by Zach Epstein and by way of a Phone Scoop article, the Big Blue has pointed out that the T-Mobile HSPA+ network isn’t the largest in the US but rather AT&T owns the largest HSPA+ network.
Here’s what AT&T say…” T-Mobile’s claims about 4G are based on the same HSPA+ technology we have deployed to 180 million people today, more than T-Mobile’s reported 140 million, and we’ll have it rolled out to 250 million people by the end of this month, substantially more than the 200 million T-Mobile says it will have by year-end.”
Furthermore AT&T says T-Mobile’s claims about their HSPA+ speeds are apparently wrong, as T-Mobile has suggested the AT&T network has a ceiling of 14.4Mbps which the Big Blue refutes and says their network is as fast as T-Mobile’s.
And they say size doesn’t matter, well to AT&T it does in a case of mine’s bigger than yours syndrome. But who really cares who has the biggest as long as everyone offers the fastest network possible.
