Possible iPhone 5 OTA Updates Like Android: Problematic

The next Apple smartphone aka iPhone 5 or 4S whatever it will be called could possibly feature OTA (Over the Air) updates.

You all know how it works when there is a new iOS update, you have to plug your iPhone into your computer to initiate the update via iTunes, so it stands to reason that Apple updates should be completed like Android phones via OTA. Apple listen up and follow the path of Android, come on you know it will work.

According to Mashable by way of 9to5 Mac there is a report that the next-generation iPhone suspected to be released in September 2011 could have this new feature. The report suggests that Apple and Verizon Wireless have been chatting to provide the over-the-air updates, wonder if AT&T will come on board?

Apple will have to make massive changes to its system if this is to happen on the iPhone 5, for example the new iOS 4.3.3 download is now available and that is a big 662.3 MB, plugging the iPhone into your computer makes this a fairly fast download. Downloading 662.3 MB via 3G or 4G is going to be considerably longer to download and install, it would be great news if Apple allows downloads via WiFi connection.

Please let us know if you would like to see over-the-air updates on the new Apple iPhone 5? Please use our poll system below and let us know your answer. Thanks
