The Big Debate: HTC has put a message up on its Facebook page today cover the HTC Desire and its Gingerbread update.
HTC it seems like to confuse Desire smartphone owners when it comes to the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, yesterday we reported that HTC one day said that they could not give the update, this was down to the phone not having enough memory, and one day on they said that they can.
PhonesReview colleague Jamie, reported earlier today that HTC has finally listened to Desire owners and will be giving the Gingerbread update sometime next week, the HTC Facebook status message said “To resolve Desire’s memory issue and enable the upgrade to Gingerbread, we will cut select apps from the release. Look for status updates starting next week. We apologize for any confusion.”
It is very good of HTC to listen but we would like to ask you a simple question, which is “Are you happy that HTC is going to cut some apps, to make room for the Gingerbread update?”
What are your views about all this is the Gingerbread update that important that users will lose a few apps? Personally the HTC Desire should lose stock apps, allow customers to download them if they WANT them, and give the user the choice.
