Verizon Casio G’zOne Ravine 2, specs & price

If you are over in the good old US of A and are in the market for a rugged handset on the Big Red network and aren’t bothered that it isn’t an Android or iOS device, you might like to know that Verizon along with Casio have now announced the Verizon Casio G’zOne Ravine 2.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo, the Verizon Casio G’zOne Ravine 2 is a rugged military spec flip phone and meets military spec 810G standards meaning the handset is protected against low and high temps, altitude, solar radiation, humidity, salt fog, vibration, dust, shock and water.

The Verizon Casio G’zOne Ravine 2 is also a world phone so should be able to allow roaming on most of the world’s GSM networks and sports a 1.38-inch display, 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera with flash, push-to-talk, Opera Mini browser, 3.5mm jack, microSD expansion and comes with GzGear software from Casio.

That GzGear software delivers such things as a compass, walking counter, astro calendar for the moon’s age and days until a full moon or new moon, tides that delivers a tidal graph for the day, thermometer, star gaze for viewing the constellations, and sunrise sunset for checking the times of well sunrise and sunset.

For those that might be interested in picking up the rugged Verizon Casio G’zOne Ravine 2, the mobile phone will be available to purchase as of today the 17th of November online and from Verizon stores as of the 23rd Nov, and commands a price tag of $149.99 after a 50 buck mail in rebate and signing up for the usual two-year agreement.
