Have you got Nexus S ICS 4.0 update yet?

With just a week to go before Christmas, the news has already been rife this morning in relation to Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich OS and new updates. Just a short time ago, we gave you news that users of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be able to enjoy a new Android 4.0.2 update, as well as news of a Google Wallet app also being accessible.

Now we turn our attention to the Nexus S smartphone, which we will have to tell you has now been updated to Android ICS 4.0, something of which had been promised after the new Galaxy Nexus had officially launched.

As androidandme.com reported, the update will no doubt be seen at different times within the next few days or even weeks, with the international GSM Nexus S version benefiting from it first, with Sprint’s model following on. As pointed out, once the update has been received, developers will then be able to release a “flashable update file” that will not require a root to use. The new manual update file as our source above stated, is now available for T-Mobile’s Nexus S.

Advice and possible tips for the new upgrade has been made possible thanks to Google with a “Tips for Android 2.3 Users” page, giving out information relating to creation of a folder, new lock screen, gestures, app upgrades and so on.
