Galaxy Nexus ban in US sought by Apple

Well it looks like Apple and Samsung aren’t meant to get along what with all the tit-for-tat patent infringement lawsuits that have been flying around between the two companies in the past. And it appears that Apple is now targeting the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone to hit the states, and is attempting to get the Samsung Galaxy Nexus banned from sale on US soil.

According to the guys over at The Next Web, by way of FOSS Patents, Apple has now filed for a preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Nexus, claiming the Android 4.0 smartphone infringes on no less than four Apple patents.

The four patents in question are data tapping, Siri search functionality, slide to unlock, and a patent to do with the way words are auto-recommended when typing into iOS.

Apparently the patents are quite new with the exception of that “data tapping” patent which has already seen some success against Android handsets, winning a ban on the import of HTC devices by the ITC that comes into force in April this year.

Thus it seems that the legal confrontation between Apple and Samsung continues this time dragging the Samsung Galaxy Nexus into the frame, whether Apple will be successful in their attempt to get the device banned remains to be seem of course and no doubt it will take months for a final ruling to be handed down…more as and when we hear.

I am really getting tired of Apple and their Cry-baby attitude. It’s as if they want to have a hold of technology and control it.Make something new and quit with these patent  suits, they are outrageous!

    1. Well said my friend, I couldn’t have put it better myself without resorting to unnecessary gutter language. Apple really should grow up and perhaps take a look in their own backyard to find the answers to why they are losing their ,in the past, well earned market share. Open source anyone???

  2. Haha.. before that soa* Steve able to destroy Android, he went down to hell personally first. It must be a God will. There’s too many hates in him so God decided to pull his triggle. Apple remember deeply, one must be good to others irregardless the approach.

Apple really do need to grow up, and accept the fact that google/android is a better product and it us gaining more popularity. Apple has enjoyed good success but it’s time to move over. Android will over take them, whether Apple likes it or not

Apple is the BIGGEST JOKE in the smartphone industry these patent lawsuites reflect how far down apple has slipped since the death of Stevie. Htc and Samsung have been PISSING on apple for the last 3years. The sad part is even if the iphone 5 came out tomorrow the GALAXY NEXUS still tops it. Iphone users are a JOKE and so is apple…..
