Windows 8 Nokia slate incoming Q4

Obviously the next big deal when it comes to Microsoft tablets is Windows 8, and as Nokia now partners Microsoft for their Nokia Windows Phones then the next logical move is for Nokia to deliver a Windows 8 tablet to the mobile space, and the latest word on a Nokia Windows 8 tablet is the slate will arrive sometime in the fourth quarter of 2012.

According to the guys over at Pocket Now, by way of DigiTimes, Nokia and Microsoft have teamed to deliver a 10-inch Nokia Windows 8 tablet in Q4 at the earliest, and said tablet will apparently be powered by a Qualcomm dual core processor.

The word is Nokia is expected to outsource manufacture of the 10-inch slate to Compal, and according to unnamed sources the initial batch of the Nokia Windows 8 tablet will be in the region of 200,000 units.

As I’m sure you are aware, Apple currently dominates the tablet space with the Apple iPad along with Android tablets gabbing their share of course, so it will be interesting to see if Nokia and Microsoft can break into the tablet arena with a Windows 8 slate.

Obviously at this early stage in the game there are no hard and fast specs on this alleged Nokia Windows 8 tablet, what Nokia will end up calling the device if it does appear, or just how much a Windows 8 slate would cost, but of course we’ll pass all we hear along as and when we do. Would you be interested in a Nokia Windows 8 tablet?
