PlayBook BlackBerry Mini Keyboard up for pre-order

If you happen to own the Research In Motion BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and have been struggling with text input and think that a keyboard would be of great assistance, you might just like to know that the new BlackBerry Mini Keyboard for the BlackBerry PlayBook has now been made available for pre-order.

According to the guys over at Crackberry, the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard for the RIM tablet is an ultra portable convertible case that also doubles as a stand for the BlackBerry PlayBook and along with a full QWERTY keyboard features an integrated touchpad for PlayBook navigation.

The BlackBerry Mini Keyboard connects to your BlackBerry PlayBook via Bluetooth, and obviously lets the user get all the touch screen real estate and is ultra-portable and lightweight coming in at just under 6mm thick.

Apparently the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard uses the same microUSB charger that came with your BlackBerry PlayBook and the keyboard’s battery can last up to 30-days on a full charge, and the Bluetooth keyboard also works with BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 Messages, Documents to Go, Contacts and Calendar apps.

For those that own the BlackBerry PlayBook and would like to put in a pre-order for the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard, the accessory can be pre-ordered internationally from shopblackberry.com with a US price tag of $119.99, or £79.99 if you are in the UK.

If you are sitting on the fence over the device we have a little video of the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard in action for your viewing consideration below, so don’t forget to head on down and mash that play button…enjoy.
