The ZTE Corporation has announced the availability of their first Android handset that will be made available to customers of MetroPCS Communications, Inc. It will come running the Android Gingerbread operating system, which will utilize the handsets 3.5-inch HVGA TFT display, and also only weighs 4.8 ounces.

Camera wise the smartphone comes with a 3.2 megapixel shooter allowing users to capture those special moments instantly, and also allows images and videos to be shared across the various social networks. As with other Android devices Google Play will allow users to further enhance their handset with over 450,000 apps and games.

The ZTE Score M is promised to offer owners the features that are demanded from a smartphone, but is ideal for those wanting a more affordable handset or want to purchase their first smartphone.

Other features of the ZTE Score M include a 600 MHz processor, CDMA 1x-EVDOrA Cell/PCS/AWS network , 1500 mAh battery, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g compatible, and 4GB of built in memory that can be expanded up to 32GB via a micro SD card.

Lixin Cheng of ZTE said the company is working with the carrier to offer customers a “smartphone experience at an incredible value”. The smartphone is available for only $49 plus tax after a mail-in rebate for a limited time, and can be found at retail locations across the country and online here.
